The Gungan Grand Army consists mostly of militiagungs, or part-time soldiers. Individuals provide their own uniforms, resulting in some variation in gear and clothing.

This idea came from a picture in THE ART OF EPISODE 1 excerpt book that came with the Widescreen Video Collector Edition. I thought it would be interesting to see what Gungans did on the days when they aren't fighting against Battle Droids!

This customs is just a simple repaint of the Jar Jar figure.

I took him apart and then repainted his pants to match the photo. It looks a bit strange that he doesn't have a belt, but his arm covers up his waist sometimes. I left the skirt off, since he doesn't have on in the photos shown below.

I then cut off the cloak from the new Yakface figure and gave it to him to wear. I was going to just use the JarJar vest, but I liked the "fur" on the Yakface one--it was a little bit different thatn what we have seen before. I also HATED to repain the skin, but it was neccessary. Oh, the arm was also repositioned so he didn't have the goofy pose anymore....

But, the "Gungan Civilian" needed a "dog" to play with!! So, I thought I'd try to sculpt him! MAN, I wish I had left well enough alone!! While I like the results a lot, I spent WAY too much time on it. Every time I added a detail, I squished another area and had to start over. AARRGGHH!! So, the "dog" (does anyone know what the name of this creature is?) is 90% sculpey, with the only exception of two pins I stuck in him for the eyes, and an Emperor Palpatine cane covered in sculpey I used to support his tail.

Oh, he HAD a long tongue sticking out, but it broke off!! His tail was longer as well, but it soo broke off....oh well....
