Throgg made his first and only appearance in STAR WARS 3-D #1 published by Blackthorne in 1987. In the story, Luke travels back to Tatooine and the Force leads his team to the Mos Eisley Cantina where he meets Throgg.

Throgg used to be a peaceful farmer until the Empire took it away. He became a spice smuggler and one of the nastiest ones around. When he meets Luke, the boy offers him a chance to become a farmer again by giving him the deed to his Uncle Owen's mositure farm. Throgg refuses, inadvertantly creating a barroom brawl with Ponda Baba. At the end of the story, Throgg decides to accept Luke's offer and settles down at long last. All is not to last however...in the ROGUE SQUADRON book, it is revealed that Gavin Darklighter's uncle Huff (Biggs' father) force Throgg off the property and acquired the farm for himself. Throgg's whereabouts after that are unknown.

This custom actually makes two outfits for Throgg: smuggler and farmer. I sculpted the face and some of the smuggler outfot onto the figure. I had to remove the headgear a bit to smooth the face. Then I just repainted according to whatever design I liked. I like blue aliens I guess, because that's what I chose for him. The collar is all sculpey and is removable. The robe is a piece of material I had around. Oh, I forgot to mention the "scythe" is from the Predator toy. Below are selected scenes from the comic book featuring Throgg. Let me know if these panels show up as 3-D on the screen...! This was fun! I also tried to recreate the scene from the comic.
